This was my first attempt at making a “Patch of the Year” dual-band 2.4GHz circular and 10GHz linear feedhorn.
I used 1.5mm brass sheet and 22mm copper pipe, with a brass adaptor to fit a “Red Rocket” LNB.

Boring the centre holes – the brass is painted with red marking fluid Custom mandrel Reflector mounter on the mandrel Mandrel bolted up Mounted in a collet on the lathe Front attachment ring for the Red Rocket lens Mounted the N socket on the back of the reflector N connector in place Trial fit of the driven element Assembled nd ready to solder Removed the lens from the LNB with hot water Naked LNB – the ring at the end was chopped off square Tapered stainless steel pin for expanding mandrel Split mandrel made from Delrin Expanding mandrel assemb;led Mounting the soldered-up feed to spin and polish on the lathe Adaptor collar to fit LNB to 22mm tube Inside of the collar is tapered to improve the match and remove any discontinuities Adaptor with copper tube and LNB in place Soldered the element, reflector, adaptor, socket and front ring I made an offset mount as otherwise the reflector fouls the feed arm
